Currently a criminal organization is sending fake e-mails and abuses the name ‘Akbank’. The purpose of these criminals is to collect of confidential data. Such fake e-mails are known as phishing mails and are sent at random. The recipients of these e-mails are both customers and non customers of Akbank. Akbank is trying to stop the phishing attack and is trying to reduce the risks for you.
Phishing mails are hard to distinguish from authentic e-mails. However, the bad usage of language is often striking. In phishing mails you are asked to use the phone or e-mail to provide confidential information. The confidential data provided to these criminals is often used to commit fraud. If you receive such an e-mail or if you have provided confidential data in response to a phishing mail, please contact us immediately.
Please take note of the following: Akbank will never send an e-mail to its customers with a request to provide confidential information by phone or e-mail. We advise to check the authenticity of an e-mail, telephone number or website. If you doubt the authenticity, please contact us at compliance@akbank.nl.
